FIN 1050: Personal Finance

This course is easily one of the most useful classes to take. Being near a computer made note-taking easy and efficient but it didn't take away from the lectures or class activities.

The major project this semester was a comparison between the health care in the USA and the health care in another country. This particular subject enlightened me to a point where I see both sides of the argument when I only saw one side before.

Reflection:

Of all the things to learn about nowadays, health care is probably one of the most important. At first, I thought that it was just a black or white topic. You either went with it or you didn't. But in studying the health care situations between Russia and the USA, I've learned that there is no right answer for health care. I'm still completely for universal health care but I can also understand the risks and inadequacies of it too.

Although Russia isn't the most functional country at the moment, their government is still trying to supply all of its citizens with free basic health care and I admire them for that. It made me wonder why our government wasn't able to make the step into free health care years ago. This fact provoked me to believe that perhaps many don't understand fully what universal health care could do for this country.

This assignment made me want to educate everyone on why I believe universal health care would do wonders for our sick country. It also made me want to keep up with the news a little more often then I do currently. If anything else, this was one of the most useful essay topics I've ever had the pleasure of writing on.
